So what does 2022 hold for the coolest Asian weddings?? Who better to ask than our resident Brit-Asian hip creatives Mush Studio, husband and wife design team who have had a right old Corona Coaster when it came to their wedding - you can see more here. We are so super stoked that they actually did get fully married in October and we KNEW it was gonna be cool, but just look hooowwwwww cool! SO yes we commissioned the fantastic Kush, 50% of Mush Studio, to given her low down on what she is seeing emerging for the most design, fashion and trend led British South Asian Weddings. Illustrated by her own gorgeous nuptials to her Manny not even two months ago.

A huge welcome, intro and and thanks to our panel of brilliant people we are working with to make sure the 2022 show is as an inclusive and safe space for as many people as possible across as many communities as possible.

The MC Coalition is a working group of diverse and informed people to ensure that intersectionality is a priority in our show and brand. Shaking up the ‘mainstream’ wedding story that’s been told over and over again, and do our best to bring everyone in from the margins, and work to build trust and collaboration in order to learn how best to serve them!

Laura and Andy worked with Fluoresse (MC22 exhibitor) on the florals and there’s aubergines and broccoli romanesco on the table - if you know me you know that is my styling happy place! Yes Laura was one of the only brides I know who took those stylistic, editorial Pinterest pins and was like, I’m actually gonna do THAT. And I respect that. on a deep level! She draped her bridesmaids in gypsophila boas , Bates and Bates (MC22 exhibitor) captured their friends and family dewy proud and staring at them in wonder, Laura has a Halfpenny dress Simone Rocha accessories, Andy has a Beggars Run green cord suit, newbie Suss cakes (at MC22) created an earl grey and blackberry flavoured cake, Hackney (including Hackney Town Hall - at MC22) plays a starring role as the third member of their romance - basically we are in heaven!

Loud Bodies have caught our eye ever since we used one their beautiful silky numbers in our 2019 House Meadow Shoot and we are huge fans of the dreamlike campaign they launched earlier this year for this collection which is PERRRRFECT for engaged people looking for a floaty, free and fanciful for their wedding look. The Romanian-based brand is founded by Patricia Luiza Blaj, it’s completely her baby, her passion and is driven by her need to prove that style has no size limits and to make ethically produced sustainable clothing of all sizes available to people everywhere. Patricia is uncompromising in her ethos of EVERY type of body being deserving beautiful, fun, LOUD clothes, no shrinking ourselves or shrinking away from happiness.

Are you ready for the third instalment of the real weddings from @aj.tamari , one of our favourite film wedding photographers, like, in the world, right now!?This is Miguel and Andrea’s beautiful big day back in 2020, and if you’re looking for colourful wedding dress inspiration look no further! Like sooo many, if not all, 2020 weddings it wasn’t the day they had planned but they had the most joyous, intimate day all the same at the industrial Round House in Beacon, New York, with beautiful autumnal blooms and foliage by @floragoodtimes and a dreamy pink dress from Azeeza .A day that was a beacon of light, a chance to be together, in the toughest, darkest of years for us humans and emotions ran high. And of course, every photo is a work of art, especially the party ones and in the streets outside. Just sublime images to treasure forever and ever. Well done everyone involved!

Gawwd knows it’s been a rough ride for all of the wedding industry and we personally know most about the companies within that, such as Wedding Shows, who had the double hit from functioning (or not!) as BOTH Events-based and Matrimony-based! It’s been its own fresh hell.. so we are cheerleading hard for our pals THE UN-WEDDING SHOW who are back with a bang at Shoreditch Studios this bank holiday weekend. Known to bring the party and the rebel vibes, it’s surely one not to miss for those of you who can’t wait to get wild, expressive and true to you on your big day. Some brilliant suppliers there, plus DJ sets and plenty of cocktails flowing.

Film photographer Dreamer of dreams Sarah Burton consistently creates the most magical wedding photography, every photo she ever posts stops us in our tracks. We would love just one single picture of us and our loved one like this to last us forever - let alone our entire wedding captured in this other worldly, life affirming manner!

Sarah is from NZ but has been in the UK for 6 year and loves to travel. She is also in the Most Curious TALENT Directory which is something of a no-brainer as we would rate her as one our favourites in the world right now. We asked her some quick fire questions with quick fire answers and also asked her to choose her Top Three images with is the first three here (including the main one above.

The way I’m crying looking at these photos!

Is testament to three things - the way Alison and Jon have nailed what a wedding should be about, love, family, togetherness, celebration, milestones, LIFE. That photographer Wolf & Co is jaw droopingly good, that he knows how to capture all of the above things (with banging use of light). And that it hits different to see a wedding, rituals, love and joy in families that look a little like yours and how much that matters.

So yeah enjoy this chic, laid back, pared back, city wedding that is distilled and curated to be about what is important in a super simply stylish package, with indie suppliers at its core. Getting ready together at The Hoxton , ceremony at The Asylum and reception, meal, Lily Vanilli cake and tea ceremony back at The Hoxton.

Will this be our last super Covid style real wedding post? We shall see! Either way we love this Stoke Newington ‘just go for it’ wedding, shot by Two For Joy Photography. Meg and Nikki told us a bit about it too.

“We loved shooting Amanda & James' wedding, they were meant to be getting married in the lakes in August 2020 and postponed until 2021 and then just thought sod it lets still get married this year (2020) so organised a local Stoke Newington wedding, which was very different to the Lake District wedding they’d planned. It was fab having the different places to shoot and more time with them because there were less guests. And they’re still getting their big “in the country DO” later this year. I think they feel like the heart ache was worth it.”

Something blue is so last year - this year’s all about something green. (Ok, caveat: we don’t care about trends or what’s ‘in’, we just care that you love your wedding because it’s a reflection of YOU. If that’s the case, then our job here is done.) And bringing all the emerald city inspiration today are the wonderful Julia and Robert, who got married pre-Covid (can you remember such a time?!) in an intimate, super special ceremony. Luckily for us, they had the exceptionally talented Maja Tsolo behnd the camera, who’s shared some of her favourite snaps of the day with us.

I know, I know - it might feel a bit odd to see snowy inspiration in the middle of the British summer (though, then again, it might not - the joy of the British weather means that I have no idea if it’ll be 13 or 30 degrees when this is published!). But with so many wedding plans changing and dates being rescheduled, winter weddings are more popular than ever, so it’s more important than ever to give you some inspiration appropriate for that season too!

We are so honoured and over joyed to share Aamir + Amir (of the YOU DON’T LOVE ME Podcast and @ladybushra fame and general iconic status!)’s story and wedding on the blog today. It’s common to hear the phrase ‘the path of true love doesn’t run smooth’, but these two have really had to make life changing decisions and face challenges that have pushed them to places many of us will never have to go in order to live their truth together, but it’s clear the bliss they find in one another explodes any negative out of the water! We originally commissioned Aamir + Amir to talk about the role their Chosen Family played in their 2019 wedding to inspire other couples who might also be planning a similar type of day, but we think the inspiration goes way beyond any type of category, it’s a gigantic love story of bravery, triumph, joy and happiness. The best kind of love story.

So delighted to feature Assumpta of Ave Creations and Ave Blooms wedding today! Assumpta is someone in the industry we have connected with over the last few months who has made us giggle, laugh, think, reflect, feel many feels including massive inspiration, admiration and solidarity on many topics. She’s a totally mega wedding planner and florist and mixing various skills you don’t often find together such as being a huge empath and creative soul, really seeing who you are, your needs and your vision, but also major confidence and determination and quiet feistiness to GET THE JOB DONE. And how you want it too.

You don’t need us to tell you this past year and a half has been, amongst other things, a big hot mess; and with that in mind it’s sometimes hard to remember the times of incredible, life-affirming joy and happiness that have occurred in that time too. One such thing was the Belfast wedding of Aoife and Connie - a day they’d originally planned for 100 guests for November 2020, but which became an intimate party of much less on the 1st October, in between lockdowns. We love every detail of their gorgeous wedding day, and the photos bring us such happiness to look at; we especially love Stephanie from X+O Photography’s prism play, and love even more how the stained glass windows at City Hall got this memo too! All in all, Aoife and Connie seemed to be bathed in glorious, beautiful light and love all day - both literal and metaphorical - as they very much deserved to be. Read all about it here:

This is Andrew and Kineta married on 12th March with a BHLDN dress and a bouquets of flowers from the street vendor outside City Hall - one of AJ Tamari’s real weddings we wanted to show you as part of our spotlight on her.

Well.. this became more than that. This is a wedding and love story for the ages and AJ’s images capture the spontaneity, the slightly bewildered but giddy day, staring the down the barrel of the unchartered territory of a worldwide pandemic but feeling the upmost certainty of each other. And written like the perfect script by these two performer babes.

Fourth in our BACK TO LOVE series, where we hear from engaged couples on where this last year has taken them, is the totally perfect pairing of Kit and Tim. Their loved-up-ness just jumps out from the words and pics and it’s clear are pleased as punch to have found each other and they know how to enjoy all the good things in life. And most importantly enjoy it all together. A very content and can-do attitude to life, from setting up an urban farm store in lockdown to overcoming a super stressful sounding proposal, being dad to their fur baby Rufus, to just having a lovely time on the day that was meant to be their wedding last July. I think we all need to be more Kit and Tim! Thanks guys and can’t wait to see the big day on 2022! Oh and peeps - if you’re in Edinburgh be sure to check out The Bears Larder as of the 24th April!
